Novum Hotel Hamburg Stadtzentrum

Perfect delicious breakfast buffet and the very nice and efficient restaurant staff made such an excellent job in keeping it nice and inviting all the time even though you arrived late for breakfast. Stayed in a fairly big single room with a comfortable bed and with a nice private bathroom and shower. I was in the 4 floor and in the back of the building so very quiet and absolutely no noise from the street Steindamm. The location is VERY central close to both Hamburg Mainstation and the ZOB buss depot and excellent shopping in Monckebergstrasse.

location was excellent. It was close to transit and there were many restaurants nearby. Breakfast was okay, not a lot of variety and it was all cold. Staff was very friendly.

First, yes, it is in the red light district I didn't know until my friend and I, both female, turned up. We had a delay in our train trip back to Hamburg where we needed to change trains, since it was already extremely late, we booked this place. Yes there were weird people outside on the streets. Yes the facilities were shared (shared toilet ans shower for the floor) However, for this price I really need to say it was exceptional because the room was comfortable enough, there was a toilet and shower with hot water for everyone on the same floor to share, there was a lott albeit a small one, and buffet breakfast was included. The buffet breakfast wasn't bad either! So all things considered, it exceeded my expectations.

This hotel is very basic. But in the category 'basic' it is OK. The neighourhood is not the best one. But so very close to the railroadstation that for us, traveling by train, it was a great location. You do get your value for money when you know this hotel is basic and nothing more than that.

Generally speaking most of the things were good, except the area around the property. The breakfast was good. The hotel itself is easy accessible but the area was pretty dirty.
